Welcome to the Lawrence County Habitat for Humanity Web Site
Since 2004 Lawrence County Habitat for Humanity has helped families in need afford decent housing. Lawrence Co. Habitat for Humanity is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The houses then are sold to families at no profit and with no interest charged. The mortgage payments are used to fund more construction of more homes for more families in our community.
Volunteers provide most of the labor, with individual and corporate donors providing land, money and materials to build decent houses in decent communities. Partner families are required to invest hundreds of hours of labor - "sweat equity" - shoulder to shoulder with voluteers who are sharing their love for the community.
How do you know if you or someone you know qualfies?
1. Is there is need for decent housing?
2. Do you have the ability to pay 0% mortgage?
3. Do you have the willingness to partner with Lawrence County Habitat for Humanity and help build the home?
4. Can you complete an application?
The selection of families who will become homeowners through partnering with the LCHFH will be done by the Family Selection Committee using these criteria in a way that does not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, color, age, ability, religion, martial status, or because all or part of the applicant's income is derived from public assistance programs.
Come share in our Ministry by -
